Teaching

Teaching is Learning, in the best way possible. It has helped Raman not only to relearn concepts from fresh perspectives, but also helped him inculcate clear communication, and empathy.
He has been involved in teaching and assisting in teaching in several core and advanced electives like Solid State Physics, Electronic Theory of Solids, Physics of Materials, Optical Materials and Devices. He has also taken undergraduate TAship for the UG mechanics-lab course. Apart from his TA duties at the Indian Institute of Science, he has taught online for NPTEL courses (available on YouTube), as well as offline in Maharani Lakshmi Ammani College located near IISc. Further, he is also involved with Science for Rural India (SFRI), IISc, whose objective is to take science to the rural areas of India. He actively participates in conducting outreach programs to kindle scientific curiosity amongst school students by visiting different schools and demonstrating live working models and Do-It-Yourself (DIY) experiments. As a member of Robotics Club, associated with Notebook Drive, IISc, he is involved in teaching the basics of electronics, programming arduino boards and controlling different sensor modules to equip the school students with the fundamentals required for working on basic robotics projects.
